Advanced Spinal Manipulation Course 1 met Daryl Herbert DO

This second course on Minimal Lever Mid Range (MLMR) manipulation techniques is designed to move forward from just a basic understanding theoretically and practically to comprehension at a deeper level and to practically consider the difficulties of the junctional segments of the spine. We will ask and discuss the question: Why are the Junctions so difficult to manipulate? The Junction joints consist of C0/C1, C1/C2, C7/T1, T12/L1, L5/S1.

Participants will be given a short and concise summary of basic (MLMR) theory and practice. They will then go through the main question above, as a discussion based on anatomy, joint biomechanics, as well as including other difficulties such as the neurology and vascular structures which are abundant at all the junctions, including fascial attachments, spinal curves, morphology differences and including other relevant ideas. Discussion of contra-indications, protecting vital structures will be discussed in full and explanations will be provided to demonstrate how MLMR techniques are appropriate.

Each junction will then be discussed regarding the relevant anatomy, mechanics, and the basic techniques from the first course and how to adapt those techniques to fit. Computer generated pictures, practical demonstrations and then table tutoring will be used to develop participants understanding and abilities. Each technique will be broken down and then rebuilt slowly with the understanding and justification of why each part of the techniques is used, when and where! Once the basic techniques have been completed then a larger repertoire of more unusual techniques will be demonstrated and practiced with information on when and why specific techniques should be used and this will be related to specific cases and patients

At the end of this course participants will be a lot more relaxed with this MLMR style of manipulation theoretically & practically. They will have the tools and skills to use it on a more regular basis building their skills and positive results.
