Panta Rhei is an agency that organizes postgraduate courses for osteopathy and offers a varied continuing education program for osteopaths at Bachelor and Master levels.
The mission of Panta Rhei is to organize interesting courses in a pleasant atmosphere. We want to connect all osteopaths with each other and thereby contribute to a good future for our profession.
Panta Rhei wordt geleid door René & Mayk Zweedijk en Stephanie Zweedijk-Beijers & Jorick Beijers.
René Zweedijk graduated laude in 1983 as a physiotherapist at the school of physiotherapy in Vlissingen. In 1984 he started training for osteopathy in Belgium and in 1989 he graduated laude. René's interest has always been in the field of neurophysiology. His graduation thesis at the physiotherapy school focused on the role of the autonomic nervous system in pain complaints. His thesis for the osteopathy program was about the neurophysiology of the digestive system.
René started teaching at the physiotherapy course in Vlissingen immediately after graduating and also after obtaining the osteopathy diploma he was asked to teach at the basic osteopathy training. In addition to practical subjects, the teaching themes were physiology and neurophysiology. After 11 years of teaching at the basic osteopathy course, René started organizing postgraduate courses in 2000. René is a much sought-after international lecturer. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and gives courses and workshops.
Although neurophysiology was and still is his great interest, René is not a theoretician pur sang. It is precisely the combination of theory with practice that is very important in René's lessons. René is a general osteopath, that is, not an osteopath who focuses on a particular target area. René has a special interest in treating children, especially children with disabilities, but René also worked as an osteopath in the Giro de Italia and the Tour de France for professional cycling team Vacansolei.
René's vision is that osteopathy belongs in medicine, functional medicine that is. This is clearly reflected in the content of his lessons, which are all based on and focused on the scientific foundation of the profession. The latter with the caveat that osteopathy must remain osteopathy and that no concessions may be made there.
"Acting in the spirit of Still and Sutherland, but also according to the insights that emerge from contemporary science"
